SLAGAR THE CRUEL PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS... THE FIRST UPDATE IN ABOUT A YEAR... AND IT'S COMING... FOR YOU!
In case you haven't checked the actual site, I've updated it with a new edition of The Haunted Abbey for Halloween. I've actually added more in the Haunted Abbey's deluxe edition than I put into Vermin Invaders' DX version. Well, sorta. With VI DX, I was mostly editing the menus and the interface, and I threw in a slightly diferent "Expert" mode, an "ending" of sorts, and a preview of VI2. With THA-DX, I've made some serious content additions. It's pretty great, so check it out.
(BTW - the new Action Area is my personal favorite.)

I was trying to replay the original a few weeks ago, but gave up once I managed to waste an hour trying to beat the archery part again. That mouse can NOT shoot. :P

You have managed to make a very frustrating game, Slagar... I hate the graveyard xP. Also, the mouse is a lousy shot and those ghosts hurt you even when you hit them. And also, mayhaps its a glitch, but the main villain disapears once and never comes back so I'm just walking around for a long time.
Other than that, the game is pretty good. Though it seems like I've kinda ripped on it quite a bit xP.

That's great! I was just about to play the old one and tough "Hmm, maybe there's an update on slagar's site." downloading now
You should post about it on the LP.
I don't get my "R" papers when I type in a password. Is it supposed to be like that, and will it still work? Do I have to go and get them again? It's been a year y'know
Ah, I had a 3D haunted abbey. where did it go? *searches around for the spotting manager* http://spots.flatland.com/dandin1/ha/hedge.3dml http://spots.flatland.com/dandin1/ha/maze.3dml If your graphic card is too old, just idsable hardware acceleration. For those who don't have it or uninstalled it, check flatland.com

Malazrael... is evil. The graveyard is actually rather easy, once you figure out how to cheat. I just hate having to go through it again when Evil Fox Man kills me. *sigh*
Did you happen to change the first archery part? Because I just got frustrated with the rhythmic delayed shooting and just shot continuously and beat it. O.o Cuz if you didn't.. well, I think I'm gonna go smack myself. I also remember having at least a small amount of difficulty in the dormitory area in the old one, whereas this one was almost pitifully easy. (I can't check, because I was retarded and overwrote the old one, and am too lazy to grab it off a backup CD. So.)

Servone - The Graveyard is supposed to be long and difficult to work out. It's the only new level so I didn't want to make it something you could beat in a minute. Yes, the mouse is a lousy shot, because he's just a normal guy, not a warrior. You can become a better shot by finding the "hidden upgrade", though. As for Malazrael disappearing, yeah, that's a glitch. I actually tried really hard to fix that, and it doesn't happen as often anymore, but I can't completely get rid of it. Sorry. Just keep in mind that in the original version, all of these problems were 10 times worse.
Dandin - I very well may post about it on the LP. Actually, I already did, but I didn't make a thread about it. So I probably will, if my internet connection stops randomly malfunctioning for long enough. RE: the "R" papers, no, they're not supposed to be retrieved by the passwords, as mentioned in the instructions. (If you think about it, there's a good reason for this.) Also, those Flatland things are still pretty rockin'.
Lyrian - people have called Malazrael the "easiest last boss ever", so I had to make him a little harder. No, I didn't change the Archery part, that's pretty much how you were always supposed to beat it. No, I didn't change the Dormitory at all, it was always a pitifully easy way to demonstrate "hey, you have a bow".

Okay, I'm an idiot. But still, when you don't even have to use the bow to get through the "hey, you have a bow" area...
It's disorienting to have to face what I'm shooting at instead of just moving back and forth. And then have to dodge things as well. Bah. :p

Hey Slags, Malazrael is STILL the easiest boss ever. I just use the secret weapon I call. . . BACK AND FORTH METHOD!!*
I didn't know that special cheat typish thing until I had already found out how to get past the graveyard. I worked it all out on paper and everything!! All that work when t was SOOOSOSOSO easy!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
Oh, I found a mistake: I remember the organ combo, and then I had the bow and fishin pole, even though I never got them. And the combo of notes sounds weird on the piano. Try it.
For Halloween, I dressed up as Predak, but I didn't have a mask, just a black-painted nose and a gray hoodie shirt. We put gray ears on it, and everyone thought I was a rabbit. HUMPH.
Happy Halloween!
